On Monday 15th April, 2019, the University of The Gambia (UTG) hosted the Opening Ceremony of a “National Symposium on Intellectual Property Education” organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice/The Gambia Government.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of UTG, Prof. Faqir Muhammad Anjum, highlighted the importance of such events. He hailed the organisers and expressed the prime position Intellectual Property assumes in contemporary legal discourse in particular and education in general. The Vice Chancellor also noted that adequate awareness of the potentials and protection of intellectual property is a desideratum for all nations that seek to be reckoned with in the globalised world.
The symposium is expected to last for two days!
