The academic affairs of the University is governed by a Senate. The Senate is the organ responsible for the governance of academic affairs of the University where academic policies and procedures are discussed, debated and approved/disapproved for implementation and/or recommendation to the governing council of the University. The Senate is governed through a committee structure which reports to the general senate. Members of Senate are elected to represent various academic and non-academic stakeholders of the University. In addition, the departments have their own committees to govern the affairs of each department.
