The University of The Gambia has emerged as the winner of the Gold Category of the National Quality Awards (NQA level 3) at an event held at the Senegambia Beach Hotel in recognition of the quality of services the institution provides.

The National Quality Award is organised by The Gambia Standards Bureau in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE) in an effort to promote and enhance the quality of goods and services of institutions within the public and private sectors.

Prof. Ousman Nyan, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics, Musa Baldeh of the University Relations Office and Yerro Sowe, Assistant Registrar and overseer of the Quality and Planning Directorate, received the award on behalf of the institution.

Organisers of the competition revealed that the University of The Gambia was audited against the ISO 9001:2015 by professionally certified auditors before the national technical management committee and jury conferred the award.
