Hult Prize University of The Gambia is now recruiting teams of 3-4 students who will compete in the
2019/2020 On Campus Program on the Challenge: Building Startups That Have A Positive Impact on
Our Planet With Every Dollar Earned. Students can now register on our website
www.hultprizeat.com/utg. Application for the registration of teams opened on Saturday, 19 October 2019.
Annually, Hult Prize awards one million dollars in start-up funding to the team of students that develop
the most innovative and breakthrough idea to solve one of our world’s toughest social challenges. In a
decade, the movement has deployed more than $50M of capital into the sector and mobilized more than
one million young people to rethink the future of business as it continues to breed disruptive innovation
on college and university campuses across 100 plus countries. The Hult Prize Foundation in partnership
with the United Nations has been called the “Nobel Prize for Students” and has been featured in a TIME
Magazine Cover Story highlighting the “Top 5 Ideas Changing the World.”
The Hult Prize University of the Gambia Organizing Committee in partnership with the Youth
Empowerment Project (YEP) will be coordinating the Hult Prize On Campus Program at The University of
The Gambia. Only University of The Gambia students in teams are eligible to apply and compete in the On
Campus Program.
Participants will receive mentorship, advisory, training and strategic planning from Start Up Incubator
Gambia on their ideas as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social ventures. A final round
of the On Campus competition will be hosted in December 2019, where the winning team would
automatically advance to compete in one of the 21 regional finals happening around the world.
Registration closes on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
