The University of the Gambia (UTG) has over the years placed a high premium on its mutually beneficial partnerships with other universities across the globe. Prominent among these is the partnership with the University of Gaston Berger (UGB), Senegal. This has been one of our flagship partnerships in recent years due to its resourcefulness and productivity.
Through this partnership, UTG was able to extensively train a number of its faculty at master’s degree level notably in the areas of Mathematical Modeling, Statistics, Computer Science and Information Systems. These programs have been successfully implemented and the results have been an enhanced quality and a reduction of stress on human resource concerns in certain departments. In addition, some of the graduates from these programs have emerged and proceeded to PhD levels and are now able to better serve the university.
The University of The Gambia (UTG) wishes to bring to attention of its community and the general public that, premised on its partnership with UGB and keeping in line with the National Development Plan (NDP) on its quest towards promoting STEM related areas, the following degree programs will be rolled out next semester: MSc in Pure Mathematics, MSc in Mathematical Modeling, MSc in Statistics and Data Science, MSc in Physics (Renewable Energy), MSc in Water Chemistry, and MSc in Telecommunications.
