Apply for our Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD) in Nursing

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Midwifery, Nurse-Anesthesia, Pediatric Nursing and Peri-operative Nursing programmes tenable at The University of The Gambia.

Admission Requirements

(1)-  Postgraduate Diploma Midwifery

To be admitted to the 18 months PGD in Midwifery programme, candidates must be in possession of:  

1. The General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level or the West African Senior School Certificate, with credits in four subjects including English language and Mathematics and at least two Science subjects, i.e Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Furthermaths or Sciences.

2. BSc in Nursing. or its equivalent from a recognized institute

(2)- Postgraduate Diploma Nurse-Anesthesia

To be admitted to the 18 months PGD in Nurse-Anesthesia programme, candidates must be in possession of: 

  1. The General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level or the West African Senior School Certificate, with credits in four subjects including English Language and Mathematics and at least two Science subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics Furthermaths or Sciences.
  2. BSc. in Nursing or its equivalent from a recognized institute 

(3) Postgraduate Diploma in Pediatric Nursing

To be admitted to the 18 months PGD in Pediatric Nursing programme, candidates must be in possession of:  

1. The General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level or the West African Senior School Certificate, with credits in four subjects including English language and Mathematics and at least two Science subjects, i.e Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Furthermaths or Sciences.

2. BSc. in Nursing or its equivalent from a recognized institute

  • Postgraduate Diploma  in Peri-Operative Nursing

To be admitted to the 18 months PGD Peri-Operative Nursing programme, candidates must be in possession of:  

1. The General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level or the West African Senior School Certificate, with credits in four subjects including English language and Mathematics and at least two Science subjects, i.e Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Furthermaths or Sciences.

2. BSc. In Nursing or its equivalent from a recognized institute

  • Candidates are required to apply online through www.utg.gm and click on the apply link to fill the form and submit. To have access to the page, candidates need to supply a pin code indicating payment of Application form, Result Verification and all other necessary fees. This pin code can be obtained from the Accounts Office, Kanifing Campus, upon tendering of receipts of payment from the Bank. The Deadline for submission of applications is December 31st 2021. Please note that all receipts obtained from the University are to be uploaded on the applications for timely processing.
