MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR

In trying moments like this, the Vice Chancellor of the University of The Gambia joins the rest of the world in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. He wishes to be in solidarity with WHO, The Gambia government and the entire UTG community in these moments of distress.

The Vice Chancellor wishes to assure his dear staff and students that efforts are put in place to bring this pandemic to its knees but also put in place viable mechanisms in delivering services to our students.

A taskforce committee has been constituted to internally fight the menace, and so far, the progress made in messaging, sensitising and procurement and distribution of sanitary materials is indeed commendable.

Last week, a “Think Tank” was established to devise a modus operandi of delivering lectures to our students while at home. This initiative quests to minismize the academic havoc that this pandemic might cause. An online project has been put in place and its cutting edges are being assessed before piloting it and finally rolling it out.

While these strategies are being initiated, the Vice Chancellor prays for the continued safety of the entire staff and students. He further advises that you follow all precautionary measures prescribed by the WHO.
