Job Overview
Director of Planning and Quality Assurance (DPQA) shall be responsible for planning and developing the strategic plan of the University of The Gambia in consultation with faculties. The Director shall also coordinate the implementation of the strategic and operational plans of the university and develop, implement and maintain a quality assurance policy in line with national regulations and standards as well as to identify quality gaps for improvement in the university and recommend appropriate solutions.
The Director of Planning and Quality Assurance shall be the process owner for the institutional and programmes accreditation processes.
Qualifications and Experience
Five (5) years of experience in a similar post with at least a PhD degree in any of the following disciplines is required: Planning, Quality Assurance or Quality Management, Human Resource Management, Management, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related field from a recognized University. Participation in executive level managerial seminars/conferences will be an added advantage as well. A strong background in educational policy formulation and strategies are equally required.
Job Title: Director of Agricultural Experimental Farm

Reports to: Dean, School of Agriculture and Environmental Science
Job Overview
Responsible for supervising the support staff including Security guards, gardeners, casual laborers, their recruitment and deployment; the Director shall also coordinate general maintenance and improvement of farm buildings, fields, fences etc. Moreover, he/she shall be responsible for allocation of research plots or areas, machinery labor to researchers during their work, repair farm implements, and any other work assigned by Dean/HOD.
Qualification and Experience
Seven (7) years of experience in similar post and a Master degree in any of the following disciplines are required: Horticulture, Animal Science, Pomology and any other related field from a recognized University. PhD holders in relevant field with 5 years University experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Job Title: Deputy Registrar
Job Family: Administration
Reports to: Registrar
Job Overview
The Deputy Registrar shall be assigned the management and administrative duties of any of the Divisions in the Registry and may serve as Assistant Secretary to Senate and Council.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Master’s Degree from recognized University.
Higher Degree or professional qualification in management will be an advantage.
Evidence of participation in executive level managerial seminars/conferences.
High integrity and ability to work well with people.
A good knowledge of ICT as well as membership of professional administrative bodies will be an advantage
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 13 years post qualification experience preferably in University administration or institutions of similar standing the last three of which shall be at Senior Management level.
Ability to assume responsibility for organizing and running a division of University Administration.
Ability to propose good policies and design good procedures.
Applicants would have risen to the position of either Senior Assistant Registrar or Principal Assistant Registrar and must have served in that position for at least 2 years as at October 2021.
