CONVOCATION UPDATES

Dear Prospective Graduands & Invited Guests,

As earlier announced, the 13th Convocation ceremony will be held on Saturday, 27th February 2021. In this regard, we are inviting you to participate in the rehearsals for the Convocation.

The rehearsals will take place on Friday, 26th February 2021 at the Qcity grounds in Bijilo at 15:00 GMT. You do not need to be robed in academic regali
On a separate note, the convocation ceremony will be held under strict compliance with Covid-19 safety guidelines. The following health protocols will be observed:

1.FUMIGATION

The Gambia Red Cross shall fumigate the convocation venue a day before the event;


2. HAND WASHING

All prospective graduands and invited guests shall wash hands with soap and bleached water (when visibly dirty) and with alcohol-based sanitizer (when not dirty) before entering the convocation ground;


3.WEARING OF FACE MASK
In order to block respiratory transmission and protect self and others, it is compulsory for all prospective graduands and invited guests to wear a face mask before entering and while on convocation grounds;


4. TEMPERATURE CHECK

All prospective graduands and invited guests shall have their body temperatures checked with the aid of an infrared thermometer before entering convocation grounds. Any person registering a body temperature of 38 C or higher shall NOT be allowed to enter the convocation grounds and shall also be referred to the Emergency Response Call Center on 1025;


5. SOCIAL/PHYSICAL DISTANCING


Prospective graduands and invited guests shall enter the convocation grounds observing a physical/ social distance of at least one (1) meter from each other. Likewise, all chairs at the venue shall have at least one (1) meter distance from the other.


Please also note that the convocation ceremony starts at 9:00 am on Saturday. Therefore, all prospective graduands and invited guests should be seated before this time to avoid any inconveniences.
