The School of Graduate Studies and Research, University of The Gambia, is pleased to invite applications for admission into the following Post Graduate Degree Programmes tenable at the University of The Gambia, commencing 2023/2024 Academic year

1-M.Ed EDUCATIONAL MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION

2-.M. Ed EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT

Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the 2 programmes, candidates will be required to possess any of the following:

i.) A good degree in Education from a recognized University.

{ B.Ed , B.A (Ed) or BSc.(Ed) }

ii.) A good first degree in other fields other than Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from a recognized University.

iii.) A third class in Sciences or Arts degrees plus 5 years of experience with PGDE

3-MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH (MPH and MSPH Programs)

Admission Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a baccalaureate degree (i.e. BA or BSc) from an accredited institution of learning with a minimum CGPA or CQPA of 3.00 based on a 4.00 point scale or with its equivalent on a different scale. Undergraduate preparation MUST include previous coursework with five (5) credits at GCE/WASSCE level including English Language, Mathematics, and at least one (1) subject in the biological, chemical and physical sciences. However, for the MPH programs, undergraduate program may include any of the biological and social sciences. Candidates whose undergraduate degree was not taught in English Language must provide evidence of English language Proficiency.

4-MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE (M.Sc) in Agronomy with specialization in:

  • Horticulture
  • Crop Production and Management
  • Soil Science and Management

Admission Requirements

Candidates for the programme must possess (i) and (ii) as indicated below:

  1. Five (5) Credits at WASSCE / GCE O’ Level at not more than two sittings with credits in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and any relevant science/social science subject.
  2. Candidates with a first degree in Agriculture or related disciplines from UTG with a CQPA of 2.600 on a 4.300 scale or other approved/recognized Universities with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division with CQPA of 3.000 on a 5.000 scale.

Duration of programme

Full time:        4 Semesters

Part time:        6 Semesters

5-MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE (MSc) in Crop Protection.

Admission Requirements

Candidates for the programme must possess (i) and (ii) as indicated below:

I-Five (5) Credits at WASSCE / GCE O’ Level at not more than two sittings with credits in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and any relevant science/social science subject.

ii-Candidates with a first degree in Agriculture or related disciplines from UTG with a CQPA of 2.600 on a 4.300 scale or other approved/recognized Universities with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division with CQPA of 3.000 on a  5.000 scale

Duration of programmes

The duration for each  programme is two years.
