On Wednesday, Vice Chancellor Prof. Faqir Muhammad Anjum received in audience, His Excellency Dr. Ali Ahmed Arain, the Pakistani Ambassador to The Gambia, based in Dakar.

Prof. Anjum welcomed the top diplomat and his delegation and expressed gratitude over the visit; adding that the visit shows the ambassador’s interest in education.

“We are pleased to have you here. We have existing MOU’s with various Pakistani Universities and we are working closely in different fields. This is part of Management’s deliberate strategy towards enhancing the international standing of the UTG,” Professor Anjum.

For his part, Ambassador Dr. Arain spoke about the relevance of University education in a country’s socio-economic development.

“I’m happy to be at this very important institution and to learn that the UTG is expanding its programmes and faculty. I’m particularly impressed with the establishment of a Directorate of Research and Consultancy and equally glad that my country is playing a key role in building the human resource capacity of this country”, the Ambassador said.

Following a brief presentation by Prof. Gomez, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), the ambassador and delegation were presented with gifts as a sign of appreciation.
